Being a celebrity and the center of attention is not always easy and nor is being the subject of every paparazzi’s photographs. So then, it makes complete sense to own a private getaway, far from any city. JOHN WAYNE: AMOUNT UNDISCLOSED, TABORCILLO ISLAND

The late Western actor John Wayne’s name is still taken in Hollywood circles because of his brilliant acting, and he is dearly missed. One place where people can remember him is at John Wayne City which has been built as a luxury resort, spa, and theme park on Taborcillo Island in Panama.

All the way back in 1977, the entire island was given to Wayne as a gift from Omar Torrijos, the one-time leader of the Panamanian Revolution, and it is now owned by Australian businessman and billionaire Ralph Hübner, who came up with the idea of the resort and developed it so.
