Brie Larson Acted in ’13 Going on 30′ and Mark Ruffalo is Shook by this Fact
It seems only a few years ago, but fifteen years have passed since the Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo movie, 13 Going on 30, opened in cinemas worldwide. As Garner’s fame waned a little bit because she got married and had three kids with Batman himself, actor Ben Affleck, Ruffalo’s star shined brighter. The actor got the biggest break of his career when he starred as the superhero The Hulk in a series of films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It seems the romantic film has produced more superhero characters from among the cast members – Ruffalo became The Hulk, Garner starred as Elektra in the movie Daredevil that also starred her ex-husband Affleck in the titular role, and last but not the least, Brie Larson who is now Captain Marvel. Many are surprised, but none more so than Ruffalo. When this fact was relayed to the actor during the world premiere of the Avengers: Endgame in Los Angeles, he was dumbfounded. He never realized that he had already been in a movie with Larson before Avengers: Endgame.

Nope, Ruffalo is not suffering from any memory loss. He doesn’t remember acting alongside Brie because they never shot any scenes together. He was playing a major character, in the “age 30 version”, while Larson was sort of an ‘extra’ in the “age 13 version” of the movie. The actress, who was probably in her early teens then, appeared during the 1980s scenes as one of the mean, snooty girls who picked on the young Jenna Rink, the character played by Garner.

As Ruffalo walked down memory lane, he couldn’t help but gush over his co-star Garner, who he said was the sweetest. The actress was already famous back then, because of her hit show Alias, while Ruffalo’s career was just taking off. Their movie 13 Going on 30 is considered as one of the best romantic comedy films of that decade.
